At 9 Property Group, we believe that great places are built by unlocking the potential in underused or neglected buildings. That’s why we’re proud to be delivering the sensitive transformation of the former Baptist Church on Cross Street, Arnold, into much-needed new homes.
Last used in 2020, the church had sadly fallen into a state of disrepair and become a target for vandalism. As a Nottingham based developer with a passion for regeneration, we recognised the opportunity to give this once loved community landmark a new lease of life, while preserving its architectural character for future generations.

Working closely with Gedling Borough Council, we’ve revised our plans to retain and convert the historic church building and former school room into nine high-quality flats. In addition, we will be delivering a carefully designed four storey block containing 14 further one-bedroom apartments, all in a highly sustainable, town centre location.
The proposals were unanimously approved by Gedling’s planning committee, and we’re grateful for the support shown by councillors and planning officers alike. Their comments recognising the care and attention given to the scheme affirm our commitment to thoughtful, design-led development.
We’re also pleased to have met all our Section 106 obligations, including a £146,311 contribution towards affordable housing provision in the borough and a further £7,200 to improve local bus infrastructure on James Street. These contributions help ensure the long term success and sustainability of the area.

We understand some concerns were raised about parking provision. However, the site’s central location with excellent access to public transport makes it ideal for a low car lifestyle, and we’re working with the council to offer season ticket access to nearby car parks for future residents.
The church building has stood as a feature of Arnold’s streetscape for over a century. Our aim is to celebrate and protect that legacy while introducing contemporary homes that support the growing needs of the local community.
We look forward to starting on site and delivering another project that reflects our values: revitalisation, respect for heritage, and high-quality urban living.
